Privacy notice
Last updated 31 October 2026
crshdAI is a dating app for adults in India, made by MirageSystems. This notice explains what we collect, who sees it, how long we keep it, your rights under Indian law and how to contact us.
Who we are
MirageSystems decides how and why your personal data is used in crshdAI. Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), that makes us the Data Fiduciary. crshdAI is offered only in India.
What we collect
- Your phone number, to sign you in with a one-time code.
- Your profile: first name, age, gender, who you'd like to be introduced to, the age range you're looking for, three photos, broad location, height, education, how often you drink and smoke, a short bio and an answer about the relationship you're looking for.
- Optional profile details: religion, community, written partner preferences, up to five hobbies and a side quest.
- Messages you send in a chat.
- Reports you make, and your private answers to follow-up questions about whether you met.
- A face check that compares a selfie you take in the app with your first photo. We keep only the outcome, a failure reason if there is one and timestamps. We delete the selfie frames after the comparison and keep no face template. It isn't ID checking or age verification.
- A device token for notifications, if you allow them.
We don't ask for your surname, email address, employer, social media accounts, Aadhaar or other ID documents, or your exact location.
Why we use it, and your consent
We use your data to sign you in, show your profile to people you're introduced to, suggest introductions, run chats, handle reports and learn whether introductions lead to meetings. We ask for your consent when you sign up, and we use your data only for these purposes.
You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account. That stops further use, but it doesn't undo what happened before you withdrew.
What other people see
Only someone you're introduced to sees your profile. They see your first name, age, photos, broad location, height, education, drinking and smoking, bio, relationship answer, and religion or community if you added them.
They never see your phone number, who you'd like to meet, your age range or written preferences, your hobbies, your side quest or your face check result.
How Mira uses your information
Mira is the part of crshdAI that suggests introductions. Mira uses your profile and your preferences to find one person whose preferences also fit you. A language model reads written partner preferences and judges whether a profile fits them. Mira never uses your chats, your emails to us, reports or face check results.
The model runs on a computer we operate. We don't send your profile to an outside AI company.
Who else handles your data
These companies process data for us, only to provide their service:
- MSG91 sends and checks sign-in codes, so it receives your phone number.
- Expo, Apple and Google deliver notifications, so they receive your device token. Notifications don't include names or message text. They may process this token outside India.
- Expo delivers updates to the app, so it receives a random ID for your install of the app, never your profile or chats. It may process this ID outside India.
- AWS Rekognition, run by Amazon Web Services in Mumbai, compares your selfie with your first photo, and your other photos with your first photo. It receives those images for the comparison. We delete the selfie frames afterwards.
We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers. We share data with the police or other authorities only when Indian law requires it, for example after a report of child sexual abuse.
How long we keep it
- Your account and profile: until you delete your account.
- Messages: erased when either of you ends the chat, blocks or deletes their account. We can't erase screenshots or copies made outside the app.
- Reports: an open report, including the copy of a reported message, stays until the founder resolves it, even if either account is deleted. Resolved reports are deleted 90 days after they're resolved. A report we have referred to the authorities is kept as long as the law requires.
- Sign-in limits: to stop abuse, we keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your phone number and IP address for up to 75 minutes after each code request.
- Face check limits: a coded count of your selfie checks, kept for up to two days so daily limits can't be reset, even if you delete your account or a photo.
- Backups: we copy the database once a week and keep each copy for 14 days, so something you deleted can stay in a backup for up to 14 days.
- After you delete your account: we keep counts that don't identify anyone, such as how many introductions led to a chat. We also keep introduction references that other people's accounts still need, for feedback and so a closed pair isn't introduced again. These no longer link to your phone number, photos or profile.
- Emails you send us stay in our mailbox until you ask us to delete them.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can:
- ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and who we've shared it with;
- ask us to correct, complete or update it;
- ask us to erase it, or delete your account yourself;
- withdraw your consent;
- nominate someone to use these rights for you if you die or become unable to;
- raise a grievance with us, and if you're not satisfied, complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
To use any of these, email pushkar@miragesystems.io from any address with the phone number on your account. We'll check that the number is yours before acting.
You can also edit your profile, stop looking for introductions or turn notifications off in the app at any time.
Age
crshdAI is only for adults 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it. Read our child safety standards.
